Try this: Use subsonic to resample your closed hat, with ctrl knob 2 at hard right, and sweeping ctrl knob 3 from right to left to right again, creating a fading in/out effect on the hat (with no sub-tone). Now resample that sample you just made onto another pad. Then, resample yourself rapidly alternating between those two pads so you get a smooth crossfade that sounds like a lengthened hi hat sound. I don't have my 404 in front of me, but I imagine it would probably work.

Off the top of my head, I'd probably try using reverb with long tail on original sound with balance really far towards the reverb side and resample in mono. EQ to taste and resample again.

I did try the technique using reverb before I posted this thread, but completely forgot to resample in mono.

Kel and Hseiken do you cats always resample in mono or do you only sample in mono when you are particularly going to be adding a bunch of effects to it.

Slow down the sample with the TIME/BPM and then mess with the eq of it to make it sound a lil better.

I personally resample in mono on a case by case basis. It depends on the original source and how much I need to resample on the next step. If i got lots of overlapping stuff, I convert to mono so I can resample more at once.

Like I said, depends on the sample. Overall I wouldn't say I use mono too much on SP, but I use it on other hardware and shit cause of necessity.
