My 404 won't load past 1-2 samples.
Everytime I want to load more than 2 samples, it'll load 1 or 2 samples, then say the memory is full. I'm using a 1GB transcend CF card and I initialized the internal memory so that can't be the case.
I'm using 16-bit, 44.1 khz .wav samples. I've tried using varying names, sample lengths, re-formating the card, converting from different formats, different conversion programs and nothing seems to work.
Does anyone know any reason why an SP404 wouldn't be able to load more than a few samples from the CF card to the banks?
Does it make sense that it continues to say "full" even when I've loaded only 5 samples into it?
Should I just give up and sample from external sources?
I'm extremely frustrated and I could really use some help.
Thanks!

how much space are the wav files you wanna import taking up?? if you have close to a GB worth of sounds on the card to import you're going to run out of space pretty quick, wav files are much bigger than the SPs sound file, but they are all still on the card when you convert, so you need to have enough space to hold all the wav files you are trying to convert as well as the converted sp sound files you are creating, i wouldn't try to import more than half a GB worth of sounds at a time
why not just sample stuff in through the line in??

I'm only trying to import small files, less than 5mb.
I'd like the option to load in drum sounds if that's something the machine is supposed to be able to do.

you're only gonna capture the 'magic' of the a/d converters if you sample in through the rca. you're missing out on character by loading through the card

Well, still it would be good to test if you can sample onto pads or if it's only loading.
When loading from card, can you load anything? Have you tried other samples?
Your samples my be using ADPCM which I don't think is supported at all.
Try different samples. If other samples load fine, it's definitely something specific with the sample. If it persists, and/or you cannot sample line in/mic more than 2 pads, you have faulty unit, likely. Gotta eliminate all the options before you can blame the hardware. Usage must be confirmed to be correct..

some transcend cards wont work correctly. I have one that is orange and another that is blue. The orange one works perfectly, while the blue one will work for a short while before it wont play samples correctly or at all
