Internet help

Post by ellaguru »

hi guys
i have a new internet line running right now.
What's happened is that it doesn't recognize some passwords of mine, or it doesn't let me download files (saying "there is a virus, file eliminated" or something like that), or doesn't let me see some videos (on some online journals) or it let appears some strange green lines like those:

Sounds like you indeed have some sort of malware/virus on your pc.
I would recommend something like F-Secure online scanner
http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_glo ... ne-scanner
but if you can't download anything that's a problem. You could try booting Windows to safe-mode and see if it makes any difference.

If the situation is bad you can also re-install your Windows. This means
you'll have to install your other programs again too. Avoid cracked software,
keygens etc and you'll be fine :)
I'm trying hard not to sound like a Apple "fanboy" but I switched to a
Mac Mini 2 years ago and been running hassle free ever since...

thanks for the reply
the weird thing is that soon before this new internet line everything was fine with other providers, so i thought that this new line was the problem...
anyway i'll try what you said about the safe-mode and see what happens. If it's still in trouble, then i'll try to reinstall drivers from this new provider (but i don't know if that makes sense...)

Have you checked your internet security settings in explorer?

I saw that and then i low certain parameters but i don't know if i have to low down everything. Other thing: the pc doesn't let me open the internal microsoft antivirus Windows Defender, in order to desactivate it....

When you hover over the green lines you get ad rights? That's most likely a addon you probably installed without realizing, or spyware/malware that got installed somehow. Download Malwarebyes and do and a search with that. You can try booting into safe mod with networking, or download the file using another computer then putting it on a flash drive.

Ok i'll try that. Thanks
Someone told me to use Avast (downloaded from another pc, of course).
Anyway i've already tried with installing the internet explorer 11 (i had version 9) but the problems are the same, even if the installation succeded.

ok
i installed avast and malawarebytes
they found many different troian agent and other suspect files; i made 2 or 3 sessions of scanning with the 2 programs, so now those green lines are disappeared. And strange-didn't-wanted-sites too...
i downloaded these programs via another pc and so i did with Google chrome. i mention this one, because, while Internet Explorer insists to say "the file is containing virus etc" , Google chrome left me download the same file without any troubles...that's strange...
anyway now IE let me enter on my emails and it recongnize my passwords.
thanks guys!

You might want to change passwords to certain 'social' sites too now that you're clean. I know twitter is notorious for hijackings. I got hacked 3 times on that site. I ended up just closing the account cause that shit's not worth it. Be careful!
