Numark TT1625 turntable problem

Post by erclee »

i just purchased a second hand numark tt1625 turntable. when i first plugged it in i tried to play a record and the arm started moving towards the center of the record really fast. through some magic i managed to fix it (dont know how) but now my problem is that the turntable is too quiet, i have to put my mixer and speakers to max volume to hear it and when i do hear it sometimes it fuzzes out and doesnt seem to be playing the record right. anyone have any suggestions? is this maybe a needle issue? do i need a new cartridge? is the weight off?

do you have it connected to an amplifier/mixer?

check for a phono/line switch?
