delete a track

Hey whats up new to the board, currently own a 303 and a 606 and like them alot. I hope I can contribute some info on this site. My question is can I delete a track on the 606, the only way I know is to delete each pad during record mode. I hope there is a qucker way. Thanks for any info

No, unfortunately not. At least the manual doesn't mention anything about deleting separate tracks from a pattern, it only shows how to edit them and them you can delete 'sample notes'..

As Phemox said, you could edit out the notes for each track by pressing F2 (EDIT)-then F1(MICRO) buttons on the pattern screen. This will display every recorded "event" (note) per selected track.

another quick way is to hold down erase in record mode, this will erase the data as the track plays but erases all recorded data for the track, so it may not be good once you start doing layering.

I second the <<<pressing F2 (EDIT)-then F1(MICRO) buttons>>> method.
You can even hold the up or down cursor buttons down for more than a second to "auto" step through the events- it's the quickest way, other than deleting the whole ting. Another way to is too preventively start with a pattern, then keep 'pattern copying up' to build the track, then you'll always have one to go back to- you can always erase the builder patterns when your done.
Even without the keypad I find the naming function to be incredibly useful- usually just putting what Bank & Pads as much as you can in the name will help keep your material organized on the 606.

thanks for the replies. I havent really messed around with the micro edit, never thought about that. sometimes I forget to hit rehearse it records the pads then i have to delete each sound. Thanks

The 'erase' method works well while recording; the 'micro' method is the quickest after a pattern has been recorded
