404 and electronic drum kit

Has anybody hooked up there 404 to an electronic drum kit. I'm new to this whole midi business.

Also i saw an artist called That1Guy and he played a big pipe covered with a whole heap of triggers. I'm guessing all hooked up to some sort of sampler.

Long story short does anybody know how to make a rigg of midi triggers that i could trigger with my foot or whatever tickles my fancy. ahah

some companys make a midi circuit board that you can basically attach any kind of 'switch'/trigger or potentiometer to just by soldering 2 wires onto certain point, usually they have room for heaps of things to be soldered on

The absolute easiest way to get started on creating custom triggers may be to get an Alesis Trigger/iO, or similar, and make controllers by connecting a 1/4" jack to any kind of switch that you want on your controller.
