New to the forums - introductory post with bandcamp link

Post by Mouthless »

'Sup everybody? New member here . . .

Been making beats for a few years, currently studying music technology at university and just ordered an SP404 yesterday.

I usually work with Ableton Live or my Zoom Sampletrak (plus a few synths and other instruments I've got laying around) and I'm looking forward to bringing the SP into a loving home and putting it to good use.

You can check out some of my stuff here: http://mouthless.bandcamp.com/
Haven't made much music over the last year but I'm hoping to sort that out very soon.

Looking forward to getting sucked into the SP way of life!

Nobody wanna say hi?

My 404 arrived today anyway, so hopefully it won't be too long before I get some beats made with it

Welcome to the boards of the SP-Forums.
This is a great lo-fi part of the world wide web.
You'll fall in love with your SP.
And this place will be a haven for knowledge, entertainment and motivation.
You got a SampleTrak? I as well. And it's a dirt machine.

Haha thanks for welcoming me into the family.
Been messing about with the 404 pretty much non stop since I got it, gonna try and delve deeper into the more advanced functions of the machine tonight while my girlfriend is at work.

Yeah the Sampletrak is a beast, got it a year or two ago on ebay for about £80. The main reason I bought the 404 was because of its portability (batteries) and built in mic for on the fly sampling/field recordings etc. It also doesn't hurt that some of my favourite beatmakers use/have used them too haha

I gotta do a group improv performance at university on Thursday so I'm gonna get the other guys in my group to bring guitars and shit along with them while I try to build a beat on the 404 on the fly. Should be fun and a great way to test out my skills on the machine :D
