Psychedelic Pop Instrumental

Post by Timid Soul »

Here's a quick pop instrumental I made recording each individual instrument to my cassette deck from the late 70's. No samples were used. Expect more stuff like this from me in the future. Because I fucking love producing music like this.

As always, my shit is free to download.

Peace.

Haha. Thanks, man. I played the drums, guitar and bass with the actual instruments. Recorded cheaply with an old Radioshack mic from the 70's and a cassette deck.

All of the keys were virtual instruments played by me on a midi keyboard. The harpsichord was a free soundfont I found, the bell sound was a sample pitched in ableton's "simpler" plugin. The organ was an old mellotron sample once again pitched over the entire keyboard so you can play chords.

As far as writing the song, I started with the drum beat, then played the main chords on the organ. And then layered things up from then on.

Here's where I got the harpsichord soundfont:

Peace.
