well it's the first monday of the month again, so here it is, beat tape a month. bought an mpc last month, so this months tape is primarily focused on experiments to work it into my workflow without dropping the 404 out of my process. currently been initially sampling/chopping and sculpting the sound on the 404 then sampling into the mpc further chopping and building the beat in the mpc. there's some real dusty shit on this months, hope ya'll dig it and always thanks for checking it out!

found a 1000 for $300. figured it was a little bit of a risk but worth it. turned out to already have the ram maxed out, and just a couple of the buttons (rec play etc) broken. So at this point I've added the internal harddrive and replaced the broken buttons and paid a lil less than i would have for an mpc with maxed ram normally.

my favorite tracks were "blue" and "tweed", overall you have real nice drum work throughout, are you programming them using the mpc sequencer?

thanks! most of the tracks on the november tape were programed in the mpc with a couple strictly sp joints on there. the two other tapes on my bandcamp were both from before i got the mpc and strictly inside the 404. the mpc is fun and can do a lot of nifty stuff, specificly that track tweed, using the lfo to modulate the filter set to a mostly open lowpass, got sort of a wahwah on the top frequencies of the sample leaving the bass end clean, cool sounding and interesting. i feel more at home in the sp though, and i like the sonic qualities of sp overall a lot more than the mpc. i specifically like the drums i've come up with on the sp a lot more, i feel like you can get more interesting kicks with a mixture of eq and subsonic effect than you can with layering, but anyway this was all way more info than you asked for ahhahaha
