Post by L.C.W »

my uncles hooking me up with a MINT condition reel to reel recorder from the 60s, seriously this thing looks like it was made yesterday must of sat in a box in a warehouse its whole life, i should of wrote down the model number but im 85% sure it was this one...

basically i wont get it for a few weeks but i want to hear some examples of beats going through a more consumer type reel to reel, ive been using cassette tape alot lately which already sounds raw and interesting, i hope this wont sound too clean, really not sure what to expect as ive never used one before.

grabbed this last spring for super cheap, got it looked at and all the belts seem to be intact/working, still gotta get a power cord for it as well as some tape though (have a line on some cheap used reels for initial tests) so its just been sitting in a box in my room taking up some much needed record space, definitely still looking forward to messing with it though

im selling one from 1980 along w/ a mixer #lemmeknow!
the key is having a mixer...
w/ more channels[4+] you can place more sounds/instrument layers on the tape giving it almost a warmer compressed sound... LIKE TAPE-lls
but i guess that would be real analogue
bang.
