I like the Kjaerhus Classic Collection which includes an EQ. It's got warm and normal modes. The other effects in the pack are really good too. I use it on just about all my tracks along with Classic Master Limiter, also in the pack. It's just a single knob...turning it right keeps dynamics and original volumes, turning it left starts removing dynamics and increasing volume, really easy to dial in a good sound.

cool thanks just grabbed it. gonna try and get my sound to be genuine vintage.

i think my recording bias needs calibration because it doesnt handle highs at all as expected, insted i need to rip some bass or mids into my snares to tape to saturate them, something just sounds bad and tinny when you try to saturate a wet snare to tape. for me anyway.

i heard from a pro enginerr in a video, that DBX sounds good because
it handles everything for you ratio wise, while other compressors
are 'DUMB' compared to DBX, because you have to know the ins and outs of the science of compression to make a standard compressor sound good.
