Yo..does yur 404 ever 'skip' like a broken cd..?.
cause mine does lately....
any thoughts?..

ya, when I had the original OS mine sorta skipped...not like a CD but sometimes it would play the 4th bar over and then skip back to the first. try an OS update...even if u have the most current one reloading it could help.

i had a similar problem, but it involved the whole unit freezing. it'd play a sequence for 10mins then play notes double time and glitch out. updated the OS and been smooth as butta since

Also if its not the OS, maybe it's something wrong with your CF card not reading properly?

I've had a problem that i think is related to polyphony. When i try to make complex sequences the 404 adds (sometimes) an annoying swing to the whole sequence which sometimes fucks it up. I dunno what OS im running tho. Is the 1.04 newest update and is it possible to update with a PC?
