Layered samples from sp-404

Post by hcantu »

Hi everyone. I'm Hector from Texas.

I'm a drummer. I have a Roland TD20, and I just bought the sp-404 that is why this is my first post.

I checked on manual, but nothing.....

How can I set to sample a bass guitar pattern on my sp-404 when I use the kick drum on TD20, but here is the trick; I want to trigger a different bass pattern everytime I kick my bass drum.

Did I explained myself correctly?

Also, is it possible to create a midi pattern on Fruity Loops or a Software sequencer and transfer thru Midi to the sp-404 in order to sample the midi pattern with my TD20 using the sounds on sp-404?

Thank you very much.
Thanks.

welcome aboard

1 - the 404 can receive MIDI notes and will trigger a pad accordingly. if the bass drum on the TD20 sends a midi note on the same channel as the 404, a pad will be triggered. but it will always trigger the same pad/bassline (unless you change the bass drum's midi assignment on the fly)

2 - yes, you can record MIDI into the 404 from any DAW. set the 404 to Slave

hope that helps

Thanks for the welcome and your answer.......I appreciate it.

Now, I'm ready to sample some stuff.......with changing notes on bass drum, I was trying to do something like this:

How can I do that?

Thanks.
