Pitch / Pitch Bank

Post by vingthorthehurler »

Hi,

Just got my 606 a couple days ago and I just have some free time to start learning a little bit of it, I am a long time 505 user and I used to own others SPs too... my question basically it is the subject, the 606 has such an option where you can get a sample and pitch it in different notes across the pads just like the 16 levels on the MPC or the SP-505?
I just can't find any info of that on the forums or the manual, I am assuming there is not such a function but I would like to get an answer from expert users.
Thanks in advance.

There is no pitching like that, you will have to resample something with the 'pitch' effect, a whole bunch of times, but it's not turntable speed pitch,
just frequency manipulated real time pitch transforming.

the 505 does this, with decent results automaticly. for you.

the chop feature works really god for 1 or 2 bar samples with spikes.

Thanks for your answer, I was assuming this since I couldn't find any info about that in the manual not even navigating all the 606 menus, I need to admit this is a big disappointment for the 606, , at this point the only SP I know can do the pitching is the 505 and it is another reason to love it even more.
I honestly was thinking the 606 since it is a newer model will come with this feature, but now it comes to my mind that even the 404 or even the newest 404SX do not have that option integrated.
I guess I will need to do all my basslines on the 505 and sample that to the 606.
Thanks.

I understand your words very weel as i'm a real pitch maniac.
The only sps that do real pitch are the 202 (not that much but enough) and the sp808....
