I just got my Sp-606 but I dont have a memory card yet....is there any way to import and export sounds through the USB without a memory card ?

You should be able to. Go to [menu] and select the option 5 [USB Mass Storage] ... now you should be able to copy some samples to your SP-606 and import them *I think*. Haven't tried it out without Compact Flash card.

You cannot import samples via USB to the internal memory. You can, however, sample sounds via USB to the internal memory.
Connect the SP via USB to a pc. Set the SP as your default soundcard (control panel, sounds and audio devices).
Hit the sampling button on the SP. Select a pad to sample to. Open the sample you wish to import on the pc. Press start on sampling menu of the sp. Playback the sample on the pc (the sound should be sent to the SP). Set the start/end points of the sample on the sp with Sample loop edit function (FUNC+Pad 14).
Keep in mind that without a memory card, you have very limited sampling time.
