Pad Responsiveness on SP-202

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and to the SP-202. I just got it today and have been having a good time with it. I noticed though, that my pads are not responsive enough to play faster drum beats. I mean like after I have chopped up a drum break and am finger drumming. Is this just how the 202 is or is this a result of it being an old and used machine? I do realize the pads are not velocity sensitive and probably are not on par with something like MPC pads. Has anyone ever done mods for pad sensitivity?

Yeah the 202s processor must be a little too slow for fast drumming, its a shame, its best for playing back samples or looped drums, if you pair it up with the 404 though sampling the 202 output can get around all its limitations

ya I feel like I have noticed this on the 505 and 555 too. Not the 404SX though. Kind of frustrating esp when there is a sub pad like on the 555.
