When I record a pattern it plays an empty 2 bars after

When I record a pattern it will play the pattern again after it has finished but with no samples. If I do a two bar loop it will play it back with the sample and then play two silent bars after

that's because your sample is still in loop mode. take it off loop for use in the sequencer. you know how a pad in loop mode stops when you hit the pad again? the sequencer thinks you're hitting the pad again

Take your pad/sample off of loop mode. That should make it play properly in the sequencer.
