Yeah, I think I'll still like it. Anything has to be better than loading up Adobe, finding a loop, loading Recycle, chopping the loop, and loading Reason, to make the song. I'd much rather do it all on one device, even if it does have a few more limitations.

I also like those 505 joint you have on your Soundclick, those are nice. Obviously it's not incapable of some good stuff.

yeah the 505 is pretty slow in all file/sample manipulating areas. like it is like 4 time slower to load a sample from card into memory (I never did this because of the slow speed), chopping and pitching is slow.

but if you are just beginning to produce beats it would be ok coz' you have some time to think what you what to do next.

I have outgrown this sampler and now when I use more advanced samplers I found my self sometimes hours not going away from them because they are too fast. this is definitely not an issue with SP-505.

I'm picking up mine for $160, but I still owe $115 on my layaway. But I am putting 15 down this weekend, and then for just a bill in October. (I'll order some memory cards as well)

eBay is kind of a rip off, because it seems most people are jacking up the prices of the 505, so be patient, and you'll find the right deal.

I guess he was talking about the visual interface but just when you chop/edit samples, after that the machine is as fast as you can be... I really like mine and I have no problem at all waiting a couple seconds to be able to see the wave form on display.

the mpc 2500 it is extremely fast compared with a SP505 wave display... there is no point of comparison...
I have an album I would like to re-release with new cover and make some physical copies as well... but I have some ideas in mind, are you a designer? where I can see your work?

Brother OM, just watched your video.
you do realize that by zooming in/out AND scrolling simultaneously, you can get to whatever region you want alot faster right?

zoom in/out will also scroll thru the menus like a page up/down button.

also, ive never agreed with the general consensus. the 505 is not that slow.
have dudes ever used the 2000XL per chance??

Thx. No don't think I knew that. Been ages since I used my 505 but I recently sold my 555, 303, and my 404sx died from reverse polarity. Pisses me off Roland did not put a $.01 protection diode or fuse in there. I plan on using the 505 again now that I am settled. Been a nutty couple of years for me.
