I am trying to control my SP-404SX from two different midi controllers. I am using an Axiom Pro 61 and using my Pads group to controls the SP404SX pads 1-12 and it works great. However, I had to readjust the midi notes that the Axiom was sending out to match that that was programmed into the SP404SX to get them to work. I also have a set of midi bass pedals I want to use to control the SP404SX also. However…..I wanted to put the notes the SP404sx responds to in the same range the midi bass pedals sends out by default so I do not have to transpose the midi bass pedals to use the SP404SX. When I do transpose the pedals due to the notes the SP404SX responds to, I lose several pads as the range of notes the midi bass pedals transmits compared to what the SP404SX expects to receive does not match the 12 notes available that the SP04SX is programmed to .

Is there a way to change the default notes that the SP404SX responds to? I could not find anything in the manual other that it telling me which notes the SP404SX would respond to. This thing is wonderful and would like to purchase another on but this may be a deal breaker if I cannot change the notes to fit my application

Sorry no help here!

Just sort of adding to this question, can I use the sp 404sx as a midi controller on fruity loops?

on the 404OG you can't change the notes it responds to. on the SX it's probably the same. :(

No there is no way to change the midi implementation of the 404 series. The control notes are set and not adjustable.

Are any of the roland samplers capable of changing the midi implementation?

No idea.

Check MIDI Solutions out. The Router or Event Processor could prob make it work. I have the Router and use it to filter all but clock/start/stop messages. They can prob answer your question easily.
