ya fam the 505 is real deadly! Its like a mpc but with out all the hassle!lolthe processor is a little slow but I see it as the machine givin you time to plan out your next movement.I was thinkin about the 555 and the 606 but they seemed a little bulky to me so im glad I got the 505!you should cop one!DR.Sample303 wrote:That's a nice little sp trinity right there Lord Beatitzu san. The 505 looks like a great machine from everything I've seen from Olby.

btw i still need to upload another old sp-505 video about microscope edit mode. deem I will do it right now because I want to finish that video tutorial set.

olby
ya fam that would be ill !and thanks again for the videos on this great machine!
Yes, that's right. You can take your SmartMedia card out of your 303 and plug it into your 505 and load the samples up there. You'll have to switch to bank 17, and the 505 will store some data onto the card in order for this to work.

Oh Snap! Now I'll want a sp303.....The one thing you'd swear Roland would forget to do, they actually give you. Kudos to them for that.

Getting really interested in a 505. LOVE my 404SX but the 555 I got recently is ok but has some frustrating limitations. Can you speed/pitch adjust samples on the 505 like on the 202 or are you stuck with the same pitch effects like the 404 etc?
Watching Olby's videos now, does the 505 do odd time signatures like 5/4, 7/8, etc?
Those clicking buttons sound annoying- I'm so used to the ones on the 404/555.
Oh shit, microscope edit reminds me of my RS7000, very nice!!

no, it has pitch banks. similar to 16 note on an MPC. (and pitch efx)
but all the pitches are timestretched to the same length.
in other words, the same tone pitched high will sound for the same time as that tone pitched low.
odd time sigs have to be done freehand
