Great stuff man! Really inspirational!

Do you have the MPD Midi'd up to to trigger the pads of the 555? Can you change banks from the MPD? Have you managed to assign the knobs and sliders to anything? I dont really rate the 555 velocity pads. Got a 606 on the way. THe pads on that are much better. They dont have much give like an MPC pad.

Can't see what you are doing mang! Camera man was a bit "enthusiastic"
:)

I don't really like the 55 pads either- I adjusted the velocity setting which helped but I just find them to be a bit stiff and hard to get good feel for the velocity curve.

thx

Thanks!
Yeah the mpd is controlin the sp via midi
mapped the fader to the pad volume the 2 knobs
for ctrl 2 and 3. the thing is my mpd screen is messed up
so mapping it was a mission.
honestly the 555 pads are ok ive been using it live
and i bang out thats why some of it gave out my only
solution is a controller. Yes you can switch banks on the mpd

Thanks man.
yeah the cam dude was kinda in the zone filming :)

Velocity wise the 555 pads are not that responsive
but i never really use the velocity on it. Pretty decent
to be played live but after a while gets beaten up.

Roland should update the triple 5's
with the mv look and pads with the
triple 5 functionality. Im on it soon as thet put that out

Thats cool that you've mapped the faders to the control knobs on the SP. All the good parts of the SP with the pads of an MPC.

I reckon if Akai made like a basic MPC that works like the sp with the quick sampling and effects but with with the 4 x 4 pad layout they would sell shedloads to performers wanting to lose the laptop from the stage. But i'm sure this would never happen. Roland could do it but I think they've given up on the SP line.

To be fair, i'd be suprised if we ever saw a new mass produced hardware sampler from any company now that doesnt need to be connected to a computer to work. THough Korg have had some interesting stuff lately.

Thanks bro!
Youre totally right everything o the market
for the past 2 years have been catering to the
laptop based controllers i think its awesome
coz you got so much possibilities when youre
on the computer but somehow it never appealed
to me when doing live sets carrying around all
those stuff unless im doing a 2 hour set or more
then i'll def need a laptop til i figure out a workaround.lol :)
