There's an SP 303 on Ebay that comes with a 32mb and 64mb card for 289.99, There's also a 8gb sd card included(not sure why) but anyway, I did the best offer option, one of my offers was counter offered so we ended up agreeing on 260. Did I pay too much? I plan on selling my SP-202 to get back 100. So it'll be like I spent less than 200 in the end, but I'd still like to know should I have waited to see if I could have gotten one for less?

Here's the link if anyone's interested in buying the 202 viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16375

Thanks, I checked the history of completed listings and the majority of the ones sold for 200 and less didn't come with either a cord, memory card, or they didn't look too good, there's a few exceptions, made me wish I lurked Ebay more often. If I sell my 202 I'll get 100 back, so It'll be like I only paid 160 for the 303, so I don't feel bad.

It's crazy how much people are selling the 202 for with no card IT should be around around 100 or less without one. But originally I was only running my samples through the 202 in lofi mode and only used the internal memory banks, and thought that the memory card was pointless. But then I would end up filling the internal banks and Bank C on the memory card..But that's just because of the way I was sampling.

It's amazing what price people want for a lot of their gear. But then again, most music gear will retain a certain price forever and some go up in price if it's discovered that the public slept on them during their production run...that makes them more scarce and people will flip them shits for dough if they know the scoop.

If someone wants to delete this thread they can lol...Oh and I'm keeping the 202. Figure they'll make a great combo.

I paid 200 euro's for my 303, also in mint condition yet without an SM Card. So you're not the only one who paid alot for one.

Gear kind of depends on supply/demand, condition, and what it can be sold for. Sometimes with samplers, they get more and more "primitive" to all the latest memory/speed that any brand new laptop can run circles and cartwheels over a SP.

You all noticed how the price of SP202's have dropped? This is probably due to the high costs of the memory cards. When the cards for the 303's/505's get hard to find, that's when the prices of 303's/505's will drop as well.

Are Roland ever going to make some new SP's? I don't know, but it might depend if there's still the market for it. If Roland decides to stop making SP samplers, then old/new users are either going to have to find old SP units, or use Akais. (But probably laptops) Maybe Korg or Yamaha might come out with something new samplewise, but let's face it, the market is being more and more computer driven.

I don't think you got ripped off, but you might have found a better deal if you waited a bit, but you only lost money on it if you're not going to use the thing. Practice every day, keep improving, and you won't stress the money you invested.
