Help with portastudio

Post by Love1986jmg »

I have a tascam mk2 and I'm trying to figure out how u work around the fast play back speed...do I recorded my loops into the tascam and pitch it down with my roland and then bounce it back into my sp555 or is there a better way cuz even if I do it this way my loops wouldn't be "normal" Im starting to hate this tascam I bought for. 10 bux on Craigslist mint condition

if you record with high speed and then play it back with high speed the pitch of your loops should be normal.

Yes. If you record from your Roland to the Tascam then play from Tascam and resample back into the Roland it will be the same.

Unless you are trying to play the tape in a different machine the tape speed is irrelevant. Anything you record on the PS will play back normal. You cannot play other tapes recorded on other machines on the PS as they will be fast, but you could record them into the PS from the other player and they will play fine.
