Have some great loops, they are synced, but,,,

Post by EclecticMusician »

I want to be able to play the loops so they are always synced even if I hit a pad to slow or to fast.

How do I lock all the loops so I can mute/unmute them at will without risking losing flow?

I hope you understand what i mean.

For example

So one can play loops (mute/unmute) in real time.

There might be a better trick for this and as far as I know there's no real-time quantize function, but if your loops are all the same bpm or bmp-synced you could use the 'roll' button to achieve something like that.

That will work for sure, but I think he just likes to change his loops live and on the fly or something, at least that's how I've understood the question.

Oh I see...perhaps set up several different patterns to cover different situations?

Loop track play

Post by EclecticMusician »

My english is mediocre. But look at the SU200 demopanel and you will se that there is a button named "Loop track play".

I want to know if I can do the same on the SP-606.

If you make 'patterns' out of them, yes the SP-606 will do this! It will wait for the pattern you started to finish before starting a new one.

Ok, I tried to do it today. But I have to practice more and more.

For example I had this loop today, started a pattern recording mode, played the pad (the loop). I had choosen the right BPM, right Beat and Measure.

Did the recording but I can not get any flow in my loops. There is always a glitch between the looped loop in the pattern. In Sample Loop edit mode the loop is perfect, no glitch.

I need more practice.

How to loop a loop in a pattern? The manual says nothing about it.

Best regards

Make sure the loops are looping properly, using a combination of [sample param] + [sample loop edit] + [bpm sync].

Once you get the loop looping properly, you can use the step sequncer to trigger it when you want to.

If you are still stuck, I'll get you to upload a couple of your loops (use zshare) and we'll see if we can't get it to work...

Got it!

I was not accurate enough with the BPM sync, also I did not have a grasp how the sequencer worked - messed with the measures. No I can go on by myself and experiment just like I want to do.

Thank you for your help.
