just yesterday I was thinking how Roland is probably the dumbest company in the business for have not developed properly the sp series with endorsements, better designs and new models&features, specially after the 606 i think roland was ahead of the game with other competitors in the idea of combining hardware and software...

thank you again for this interview

No problem. Glad you enjoyed it. Working on the final installment now!

It's interesting, Roland re-tweeted me yesterday when I included them on a tweet about the interview. I included them in another tweet today. I wonder if someone from their camp will read the part where we criticize them and respond.

Great interview. I love dibiase ever since I saw tat youtube clip with ras g back in 2007. He makes everything seam so effortless. Dont think there is anything he's done which I don't like. And he seams like a genuine person, I know he kicks around this forum a lot too!

Great job sorce 1. Its inspiring to read especially after seeing youtube interviews he seems very grounded and humble. Look forward to more. You should try to interview Dr. Who Dat(aka jneiro jarel) who is an avid sp 303 user.

Not necessarily less experimental I just don't like the way video game beats sound. I know it's pretty trendy around here but in my humble opinion they just sound very one dimensional and rhythmless. I'll check out his stuff in a little bit when I get home. Thanks for the reference.

luckily i'm not a one trick pony. lol video game stuff from me was mainly from 05 almost 10 years ago. but i have plenty of beats in some the battles on the forums for example.

I agree. I like to use my sp12 with Maschine. People act like it gives them "beat cred" if they use hardware and are anti-software. Granted most time Im all hardware but I have the same respect for cats who use software even if its exclusively software. The end result is all I care about.

thats one of my fav combos now running drums through sp 12 and dumping into maschine. working on a tape full that now

Thats cool man, I checked out your bandcamp page and I like everything I hear. I didnt know if you did video game beats or not but I must've offended someone with that comment because I got a message, a friendly message though. I probably shouldve left my 2 cents out because I have actually sampled from video games before just not the 8 bit old nintendo style. Some of the newer games have soundscapes that are great prospects as sample donors. Really feeling "collecting dust" right now!

I LOVE my sp12, even more than the sp1200. Sure its got 5.3 seconds less sample time but its built much better, saves everything internally so no disks, and about half the price...I sold my 1200 cus I get by just fine with the 12 using it with maschine, sp 303 and my other samplers. I cant wait to check out your maschine/sp12 tape. Cheers!
