DAW TO SP

Just joined the 505 community(lofiSHT), can the 505 retrieve samples directly from my daw thru the RCA/MIDI etc??? As opposed to using a smart media card?

midi it's no audio, midi it's a matter of electrical signals by wich, for example, i can tap a pad from a sampler and hear a sound from another machine comunicating on the same midi channel.

the 505 can retrive samples only sampling sounds from external sources or by importing samples (wav samples) from pc with smartmedia cards or exporting them from 505 to pc with the same method; but in this case there are no more wav. samples, they're automaticly converted in some sort of "boss sp505 format" wich is impossible to read other than with the sp505 (or the sp303).

I'm new to hardware and I know how horrible the 505s midi is but please give me the run down if you can

maybe sample sounds from keyboard to 505 and then reorganize the Whole thing by sequencing it and helping you with microediting also...

just throw it from the headphone jack or interface to line in. you can get a cheap interface around $50 (or even less) or a more quality one for 100 to as much as 500-1000 for the premium ones.

DAW to SP? Don't know, thats gonna be a challenge. Best thing would be to sample your DAW within the 505. But don't know if it can record MIDI data and audio to a pattern at the same time.
