I just got my SP-303 and Ive been using MPCs for long time and i was wondering if its possible to mute sample with other sample (mute group in MPC) ? and second question. Isnt it possible to build a song with patterns without triggering them on the fly? I hope you understand my questions.

thanks in advance

1. No not really (you can always exceed the polyphony of your sp-303 but that is not the same)

2. No. The 404 allows you to switch between 2 patterns in a synced way but the 303 does not do this.

To mute on the 303 what you can do is assign the isolator to the sounds you want muted and then cut all 3 bands. turn the effect on and off as u need to to mute it. Theres no way to link patterns on the 303 unfortunately :(

I find the gate pad usefull to "mute" .. it wont cut off the sound, but only play for as long as you have held down the pad. so if you keep that in mind and tap your pad quickly when recording a sequence - you can turn on the gate and "mute" everything exept the quick tap.. :D
..did that make sence?
