fuck, he was in oakland last night. Son of a bitch!!!! Where the fuck have i been. Just moved to san leandro and and my brain stops working. Sounds like it was amazing like all of his shows probably are.

yeah seen him multiple times. def see him whenever you can, he reinvents the live experience so much that any opportunity is well worth it

Caught him a few times now as well, always brings a killer show.
First time Lotus played my town the venue was a small 2 room nightclub. The main room had the doors closed even though the schedule said a mate's band was meant to playing. Which was weird, but I could hear this incredible music playing on the other side so I slip through thinking someone closed the doors behind them. As I entered the room a loud shriek rings out followed by silence. Like an idiot I stopped & simply looked around, the room was empty, except for the stage...
There's Flying Lotus was doing a warm up set with Thundercat on bass & Thundercat's cousin on drums. They stare at me with the look of 'Who's that pleb? Someone get him outta here' for a moment, then start jamming again. Nobody asks me to leave so I stand by the bar with a huge, dumb smile on my face for getting a private gig. The mate who was meant to be playing wanders in after a while, explains how Lotus & crew were late to town. They called dibs on the room for the warm up & sound test. Not that he minded because they told him he was cool to watch them set up & hang out.
For the next 40 minutes the audience was just the mate, the barman/soundman & I. 'Spose I didn't get kicked out because I didn't pull out a phone or whatever to record the warm up. Everything they played was improvised & totally new! 2 years later & I'm still stoked about that night.
