I use a really cheap audio interface that records well but can't handle certain things. Are there that are you guys can recommend?

Behringer u-control, I think it was the cheapest audio interface I could find and it's been going for two years now with heavy use and i've not felt the need for more. Behringer shit rules, cheap and cheerful!

i just got the steinberg UR22. its dope because the audio doesn't break up when overloaded, which sounds like what your problem is. has great pre-amps too. i've used the behringer u-control and it didn't really do the 404 any justice. the steinberg stuff is all made by yamaha now too.

Echo Audiofire 4 (or Audiofire 2 if you only need stereo in and out.)
Echo is an awesome company with great support, and the sound quality is amazing for the price. Only have experience using on mac, but I think the windows drivers are good too.
