making beats with 202 and nothing else ??

ok, this is the 202 tips/tricks forum but most of the post are about defects and "I'm about to buy a 202, but first I'd like to know..." type of posts..


so, if you are making beats or you have made beats with just a 202 and recording device, then please share some tips here..

I'm eager to hear what is possible. Personally all I can imagine is layering a few loops and trigger some stabs...

I have heard a few ill 202 joints though. Bruce Li comes to mind

might not be super amazing but the reverse button on the 202 functions differently from the reverse on the other SP models. On the 202 you can start reversing at the exact moment you hit the button during sample playback. This is good for a fluid stuttering kind of effect.

The reverse function on the 303 works in the same way that you have described. I wish it was that way with the 404sx.

all beats composed on the 202 and the recorder tho, it can be done
the sound and the pitch function are selling points alone

I have a 202, it's the second one I've owned... I want to buy another one soon they seem to be creeping up in price
