Does anyone actually use SUB SONIC MFX?
at first i thought subsonic effect was the shit but then i realize it seems to be overly powerful even on its weakest setting.
was wondering if anyone here uses subsonic regularly and if they seem to think the same thing as me regarding the bass power.
If it is too powerful how do you guys usually manage those sub frequencies on your 404?

I use my sub sonic quite frequently. Usually I slide around until I find a note that i like, then re-sample it to a pad. I like to have about four notes, then i just play a bassline with those. If you think it's too loud you can just lower the volume of the pads. Maybe try the isolator as well.

I use subsonic on my 404sx, it's actually one of the features I wanted the most when I only had my 303. I seem to remember the subsonic being a little more useful on my friends 404OG than the 404sx, can anyone confirm or deny this if they have both currently?

lower volume
or if layering set the balance (third knob) to desired strength
i thought the sx subsonic sounds cleaner, more like a sine wave than the og

I use subsonic all the time. I make my own bass drops and other effects with it. I'll sample multiple notes but to make sure you have the right note, you have to resample it, throw on distortion then play what you're trying to match pitch wise with the distorted sample then go back and adjust.
Overall, I'll sample the subsonic on it's own, then test it's pitch if I"m trying to make a bassline out of multiple subsonic samples then resample again at about 75% volume or so. I'll also layer it with distortion/overdrive with the bass removed via isolator on the distortion part to get a nice DnB-ish tone (cause you resample them back together and you got a super clean sub on a nasty synth sound).
Yes, subsonic is definitely used quite frequently by me. You can even make kicks out of it.

Good sub sonic tips hseiken, I also get great use out of the distortion/overdrive effects you mention. Guitar stuff has me thinking about harmonics a lot and overdrive is a nice way to bring some out.

It's possible to use single bass note with MFX18 to get a wooble bass.

I rep subsonic to the fullest! As has been said, get the pitch and volume of it right and its gold.
