First of all I want to apologize for my bad English!

Third is about my question. I want to chop a sample but when i do "Auto Chop" the SP chops my sample in their way. But the pieces are ridiculous!
I have fifteen small pieces (some of them really small...) and the sixteen piece is a very very long chop (piece).

I want to ask 2 things:

If i can edit the chop pieces, i mean, once i chopped i can edit the 16 pieces.. On Akai MPC we can chop a sample to a 16 equal pieces, for example if I have a 10 seconds sample and I want to chop it up to 16 pads in equal pieces I will have 0.625 seconds each piece. That's my first question.. I tried to be specific

The second one are if I can sample something and if I can chop something like I wont, for example: If i chop a drum loop, i want to chop one piece for the kick, other piece for snare other for the hi hat.. it's kind of control my chop...

Unfortunately the SP-606 can not do a real manual chop like that. Nor can it do an auto-chop that simply always divides a sample into exactly equal pieces. It works differently, it tries to search for interesting parts of a sample, so you get like a separate hi-hat, bassdrum and so on out of your sample. If you want to do some sample phrases, you can still use auto-chop, but sometimes it's easier to just resample the same sample to 16 pads and use [sample loop edit] to adjust them all to the correct length you want.

Anyways, you can adjust the auto-chop settings though and usually it will give good results.

You did notice you can change the 'chop level' when using the autochop feature? Turning the [value dial wheel] or whatever you call it will change the 'chop level'. Sometimes certain chop levels will give weird results, sometimes a sample may simply be unsuited for auto-chopping. A shorter sample or slightly different one may solve the problem (use [sample loop edit] then).

Yessur I copy that!

The trick is: sample my loop and copy that loop to 16 pads then I adjust and make my own chop without markers/zones.. isn't the best way... a little tedious but is not bad at all.

Go the 'Semi-Manual' Chop...

Chop as normal - try to get close to what you want.

Delete the 'bum' slices.

Copy that 'long slice' from pad 16 to the clipboard

Use 'sample loop edit' to fix the last slice and put it where you want!!!

By doing this you can get PERFECT slices EVERY time.

Good to see you back man, hope you had a nice holiday. The technique you've described is a very good one, I didn't quite thought about that.
