Just got my first tape deck any recommendations on what tapes to record with ?
If you have any other info on tapes shoot.

I heard that Type 2 Chrome tapes are the way to go. Once I run out of my plastic type 1 tapes, ima buy some.

i been using hissy maxell 90s you gotta record full blast in,

remember when using the headphone or microphone jack it will mess with your frequency response, so the bass will be overloading and the highs will be cut, i think this has something to do with the RIAA curve, someone can school us on that.

I'm on 90 minute maxwells too. Haha, I'm ashamed to say "90 minute maxwell tapes, instrumental breaks, bangin ear aches, lay my verse down in two takes" had something to do with that decision. Aside from the fact they are readily available in dollar stores around my way lol.

I've been using Type IV 60 minute tapes but that's just because my deck supports Type IV and those Sony Metal tapes are everywhere.
