404 Hiccups during resample?

I've noticed sometimes that my 404 sometimes...has odd issues when resampling. Delayed response to a pad, a pad is done playing but is still lit up, etc.

Has anyone else had this? I'm wondering if I'm using samples that are too big. Instead of truncating or resampling just a little bit from a longer sample for chopping, I tend to copy over the original long sample and set markers on the other pads to play from.

Do you think this might be the problem?

My 404sx does that too. Not sure why.
