broadcasting tv after it turns hd
in 2009 when all television converts to HD format and you have to throw away your old TV sets with antennas, i wonder if its still possible to broadcast on to antenna TVs. it would be dope as hell to have your own pirate television station. anyway, i've always had an antenna TV, never had cable or anything. i'd hate to see everyone do away with the old TVs.

I think FreeToAir channels will always be the plain old style stuff, so it might be quite a while before it really disappears. I also don't think the normal TV stations will stop sending the normal signals any time soon because eventhough HD format will become (more) available in 2009, there's loads of people with incompatible TVs.
Question is, would they force the people to buy a new TV or would they simply accept a slow conversion with the amount of HD-ready tvs rising steadily over time?

OMFG, are you reading my thoughts. I've been collecting old t.v. sets like records for a few years now for the purpose of broadcasting over airwaves when the switch is made, so I have my own propaganda machine for my agenda/music and art. We should talk and develop a more concrete plan on this, I pretty good with electronics in general and I can build computers so I was thinking of building a radio tower with a few strong signal boosters to at least broadcast over my local city which by that time will be either Olympia or Seattle, Washington since I'll be starting Evergreen next year.
To answer Phemox, yes they will just force everyone over to a pay service and a new t.v. set which will create a huge boom for a few tech companies and a much larger influx of money into content/service providers like comcast and fox media just to name two. Just like pirate radio, there will be pirate t.v. so I'm trying to get in as early as possible since video is a very powerful medium to get your message across.

right on man. i see you've been thinking about this for a while too. i think i'll read up on broadcasting more since the colleges probably stopped teaching non hd Television broadcasting. but yeah you totally gave me hope to do it too cause now i know its possible and we should definitely organize some master plan.
i must say that i never thought about it like that.
i must go and research how it could be possible to broadcast on regular TV. i know the basics of pirate radio but i never thought about the dead airwaves when EVERYTHING goes digital and the old shit won't be used.
things are looking good. roll on 2012.

Yeah, once the switch is made we could have a chance to reach a lot of people with a good message about how to free themselves from societies problems. The governments inefficiency and willingness to make changes that only benefit large corporations will be their downfall. Even Rome fell, you just can't run a world without taking care of it's citizens because they'll organize the real power of a nation which is it's people and use it to take back what was stolen from the indigenous people who lived in mutual benefit for thousands of years before so called "civilization".

If you have a defeatist attitude like that than yeah, but I know I'll get my message across and everyday I'll make moves to take me closer to the goal.
Success Is Destiny. The biggest obstacle isn't the drugs, t.v. and everything else used to manufacture consent but people not believing that they will spark change locally which will spread to new minds and inspire new generations to continue like crusaders for justice.

i remember when me and my friend used to talk about a revolution in the western world. we have both lived in third world countries and the mantra of "infiltrate, destroy, rebuild" is still (i believe) the only possible way that third world countries can lift themselves out of this ridiculous poverty.
some people say we have it good here in the developed world, which we do. but there are things we are losing as well, more human things, more natural things. a revolution will take place. all nations fall. if you think that people won't accept it or people aren't ready just remember:
there are always people who are ready.
PS. DR. sample you always come up with the illest avatars!! im straight jackin that one for a different site!!

not defeatist. just highlighting what stands between now and possible revolution. other systems need to be taken down or changed before it will be possible to overthrow society by direct action.

Thanks Hotsauce, no prob on using it on another site I got a million others waiting to be used after this one.
I feel what your saying Cartesia and I often feel the same way but I gotta start somewhere so I try and make change doing the things I know and find to be positive for others. I rarely doing anything to directly benefit myself these days since all the good energy I put out always comes back to me 10 fold.

I think in order to achieve a care factor > 0, you would first have to abolish drugs, religion, consumerism & ignorance... a possibly impossible task
hey hey easy with the drugs man. hahah
