Re: VOTING - ROUND 3 - SSPSB Tournament
all four beats are dope, you can really tell all of your swords have been sharpened in previous rounds.
both decisions were tough, but i'm giving it to Wax and Hseiken. the styles of these beats were a bit more to my taste than the others. good work all around though
next round should be really interesting!

I'll just quote this. I felt exactly the same way.drewzle wrote:all four beats are dope, you can really tell all of your swords have been sharpened in previous rounds.

Whoa, Turrican blew me away with that one. Snake's was great too, but I'm leaning on Turk for this round. Also really good vibes on Ness' beat, good stuff all around

I voted for Snake. Thought his beat was more soulful.
@Pikachu - thanks, man. Much respect for your entry too.

wow.. cheers... it's just a microwave beat i did before work today... been pushing that away for days.. pretty happy you guys asked for another day... anyway.. used a little microkorg for the base; rest is resampling + outside drums recorded into live (no fx in there)
i thought snake came with an unbeatable hyper flip... that shit is just awesome, if you listen to the sample... mad props tee!
lovin the outro as well!
Pika vs Ness
gotta go with Ness on this one... you really can tell from this and all of his previous tracks that he really wants that fucking tourney title.
pika's track is really cool, but it don't got that dark vibe i'd been loving so much in the earlier rounds... sorry kelkachu!
i'd love to battle you for bronze man - so many battles we've done in the past; should be good fun...
samples been real tough this round but you guys make it work just smoothly..
btw.
do you guys own any consoles? thinking of a small price.
i know kel got a wii and a genesis, right?! how about you snake and ness?
oh .. and another thought i haven't shared with the public is that i'd like to handle further tournaments just like a regular battle... meaning, if you win a tournament then it's up to you to set up a new one or nominate someone that's willed to do it... sounds fair and logical to me but what do you think?

Re: VOTING - ROUND 3 - SSPSB Tournament
This kind of battle has really sorted the cream! Had to listen to each beat a few times to decide.
Voted Turrican (dark vibe) & Pika.
Snake had some insane arps & tight as drums but Turrican had it because I love minor scales & slow tempos.
Ness had some classy Ninja Tune drums & fun vibes but I had to go with Pika for the 'broken' vibe. Really hard to decide here. Like the Pika's broken vibe, but the amount of work in Ness' track can't be faulted. Could've voted either way to be honest.
@wax: nice idea but you've ran this one so tight it'll need someone super dedicated to do future tournaments. Missed who's done the visuals this time as well, look's like Eisendraht's work. This one's set a high standard!

well... i had to do the artwork as well...
(it's quit big, wa?!
)
did it with ms paint since i don't know shit about visual editing. so primitive but fun... this one can't mess with the mortal kombat layout but thanx for the overall feedback.
samples left:
Turrican (Amiga 500) - Bronze Battle (watch out for the break!!)

Re: VOTING - ROUND 3 - SSPSB Tournament
what a round wooo
ness vs. kelkachu (lol)
ness beat was awesome straight up. Had a nice jazzy feeling, bangin drums, good use of sound effects, cool scratchin'... "all the pokemon are gooone?" ahha like that.
pikachu beat was ill too. the chops to form that melody were pretty awesome...thought ness had the better groove and overall sound though. Ness gets my vote.
Turrican... close match right now looks like it could go either way! Your beat was pretty damn ill. Feel like i'm trapped in some underground lair while listening to it.. Though you'd have me for sure with that beat, but phantom votes still keeping me alive! lol. Always a pleasure man.

both links are working for me, kel..
try this for the turrican sample:

snakes sample seems to be more chop friendly though, but watch out for that break..

Hey, Snake...don't think you can trick me like you did Psycho Mantis by putting your controller in slot 2!
