I am an MPC user, but just got a 303.
I am used to samples cutting each other off - since the 303 can't do this, I've been using the 'gate' setting a lot.
When recording a pattern, as the 2 measures end, and it rolls from 2.4 to 1.1, the last gated sample gets cut short at 1.1.
Is there some creative way around this? Or should I just not use the gate and cut the samples to the exact length I need them? Seems tough.

Re: Gate playback and recording
for the 1.1 hit go into quantize mode and change setting to quarter notes (4).
turn quantize off while recording the rest of the samples.

Just drop a little bit of reverb or delay on your last sample...
