I'm thinking about ordering one for $98. What do you guys think of it? I wanna either get a Kaossilator or a 202 to go with my 303. I'm new to synthesis, but I've been messing around with Moog emulator vsts.

it just depends on what you want to do. KO1 goes for cheaper than KO2 and if you're going to be sampling it, you don't really need KO2 as it's really got updated for performances and such and not much more.

It's really just a question of what are your goals. I like to have all my bases covered so if you don't have anything that generates sound from nothing (i.e. something that's not a sampler) I'd go for the KO.

I disagree, i've had both and the K02 blows away the K01. The KO2 has a lot more drum kits and patterns to mess with, some are really nice thick drums, ripe for SP sampling. Also, most of the synth sounds on the KO2 are actually virtual analog synthesis, not PCM samples like the last K01 so it sounds like a (cheap) korg VA synth more than a rompler now - plus has more sounds this time. I got one for $85 bucks off guitar center used, YMMV.

I like KO1, I personally produced an entire beattape using just the 303, KO1 and records like 2 years ago (?) now IDK what the KO2 could bring to your production but the opinion of blavatsky it looks like really detailed and sounds legit so it depends on you...
The beat tape I am talking it is called Jazzilator... you can find it here

Thanks for the input fam. I might get the KO1. I'm broke lol, I'm only 14. I got this money for my birthday, and I dont get allowance or anything so I gotta spend wisely. @locotes, I checked out that tape the other day, the 2nd joint is my favorite.

like hseiken said-- paired with a sampler, the KO2 is barely an upgrade.
