Get more plays on soundcloud

Don't know too much about souncloud,but from a promotional aspect,how benneficial is it to promote music to strictly other musicians? Doesn't seem to be people on there as stictctly music fans looking for new stuff to listen to or purchase. Am I missing something maybe? Seems kinda like a waste of time trying to get other musicians to listen to you while hoping u do the same so u can give them props. As wack as a lot of aspects of MySpace was,I really miss it as a musical oulet,where u could actually connect w music fans all over the world,and also make sales. (As well as getting some pussy every once and a while off there,def miss that,lol) don't understand why Facebook doesn't have a music section where artists can actually request listeners ..instead of just suggesting someone like you're page ,kinda wack. From a music standpoint ,I really miss MySpace..once upon a time I had built a small international fanbase that was mad supportive and actually bought my shit. God damn Rupert murdochs bitch ass ruined that shit.

I think you also don't have knowledge of music & its promotional way. But I think it is the not the way to "Just people circle jerking each other for views". First use this tool & then share your ideas. Knowing is not good but not using the tool & give any stupid suggestions is wasteful.

Someone talked me into using one a long time ago and all I got was 16yr old girls saying 'hey cool song thing, now come check out my stuff here!!!!' and they didn't have anything on their pages, i regretted all the spam. Seemed like spam accounts just to make it look like you have views. Also "But I think it is the not the way to" do what? This whole thing just seems like paying for views/friends which i'm not into.

Man, you know I'm a fan, but I think you may be missing something. Its not strictly other musicians. My mother is following me! Seriously though.. When I first got on soundcloud, something like a couple years ago, I would get 1-10 plays over months. Now, on my personal tracks (non-battle) I usually get over 30 plays within 24 hours of posting. That's all I need. Maybe I could've done better on another site, but I really appreciate soundcloud and would be bummed if it went down like myspace.. and if most of the listeners I get through soundcloud are musicians that's all good by me. Them's likeminded people, which I love because my mind is all about respect and love and peace and having fun. For real as fuck.
