I know there was thread already for this but I couldn't find it. Just for fun, how did you get your producer name and/or what does it mean? I don't have one now, but my old rap name was spacey-k because I space out and don't pay attention...

My friends little brother, who was 8 at the time, he asked "what if there was a bear made out of lasers?" This was hilarious to all of my friends and I so I adopted the name as a joke, I would make IDM songs with myself speaking through the microkorg vocoder telling the tales of a bear made of lasers flying around space and destroying planets and shit. Eventually I transitioned from goofy IDM shit to sample and synth beats and kept the name cuz I think it sounds cool.

I thought of the word flow one day and went on dictionary.com to look for synonyms and then I found fluent. I liked the way it sound and I thought it was short and unique.

Back when I was like 11 i was making these ridiculous keyboard beats and we would rap parody stuff over them. One day my neighbour and I we were at the park or something and I bust out a yawn that sounded like chewbacca and he's okay your new artist name is Teewok ... cuz you sound like an ewok and your name starts with a T. Somehow this stuck.

But now I like to think of Teewok as a place where chopped samples get stir-fried. That seems to be a cooler explanation lol

First of all "Paddo" is dutch for shrooms (those magic ones that make you hallucinate) and my first name is Ricardo. And in dutch it sort of rhymes.. Ricardo - riPaddo.

So once upon a time, while on a schooltrip to Luxembourg, we were walking through a forest. And while walking in front of 2 teachers with some friends, we heard them talking in a high pitched voice all the time. So we're like, and even said it, "Did you guys took some shrooms/paddo's or something?" and they replied somewhat like "Look who's talking, Ripaddo."

Since then I've been riPaddo and never had shrooms.

i've always made beats by hand & recorded live. I like the raw, the real, realism, amateurism? something like that. This usually ends up in me fucking something up by chance & there's a few mistakes. i like mistakes. they show you're human, man.

one sunny afternoon in Melbourne my friends and I ate large doses of 2CE and went for a walk in the park. we ran into another friend, who lived nearby. i can remember his smiling face as he noticed us, and the warm hug he gave me, saying " g'day there drewzle"
no-one had twisted my name (drew) into that formation before, and it stuck with me.

i use drewzle as a forum handle but make tunes and perform under the alias Broken Clock, story behind that name is simply the tug between quantization and fluidity which I always like in my beats...
