Is it possible to mute individual slices in a sample/loop?

I've never used the 606, but on the 303 there is something called the effect grab/tap temp button that lets you apply an effect quickly to any pad or in th time to mute an individual slice. So basically you use the isolator effect with all the knobs to the left and when you hold down the effect grab button it will let you press the isolator button on/off really quick so you can cut the sample in and out.

Of course it is possible, if I slice a sample I will be able to mute pads if I assign the individual slices to the pads.

What was I thinking?

I forget shit I learn on the sampler all the time, but when I rediscover it might be more inspiring and useful.
