Off course you should do whatever you want to do, but selling both the MV8800 and MPC1000 in exchange for a new LinnDrummII seems quite odd to me.
Both the mv8800 and MPC1000 pack a lot of heat, probably even more if you take maximum advantage of the good things of both worlds... it really remains to be seen if the LinnDrumm II can actually live up to it's hype.
At the moment I definitely believe in the LinndrummII because it seems they are carefully listening to what people actually want, but there's nothing really that they've shown to prove this yet.
Personally I think Roger Linn must know his trade, but it could still turn out disappointing for whatever reason.
I mean, I haven't even seen or heard a prototype in action yet (any videos on this machine yet?). We'll eventually see how it will turn out, but it's a tad early in my opinion to judge already.
I AM NOT PAYING OVER 1 GRAND FOR QUANTIZE
Me neither... in fact I don't see much wrong with the quantize on the Roland machines, especially not the MV8800.... Besides, if it's the MPC3000 quantize you want, shouldn't a MPC2500 do the job?

LINN DRUMM 2
I GUESS IT'S REALLY ABOUT WHAT WOKS BEST FOR EVERYONE MY FIRST SAMPLER WAS A LINN 9000 THATS WHY IM SO HYPED ON THE LINN DRUMM 2 THATS WERE THE FOUNDATION FOR ALOT OF THESE SAMPLING DRUM MACHINES COME MPC 60, 62,3000 ALL ROGER LINN JOINTS WHEN AKAI DEADED THERE DEAL WITH HIM AND PUT OUT THE 2000 2000XL 4000 1000 500 AND NOW THE 5000 THEY WERE ALL MADE WITH VERY CHEAP PARTS PLUS THE FEEL OF THE MACHINE IS DIFFERENT THATS CATS LIKE DRE , J DILLA, MEL MAN, FOCUS, HI TEK, AND THE LIST GO'S ON STILL FUCK WITH THE 3000 EVEN PREMO AND JERMANIE DUPREE STILL SWEAR BY THE MPC 60 AND 62 CAUSE THE NEW JOINTS DON'T GOT THAT OLD FEEL. I ONLY COPED THE 1000 CAUSE MY BOYS A SALES REP OVER AT AKAI AND I GOT MINE AT THE WHOLESALE PRICE OTHER WISE THAN I WOULD'T HAVE PICKED IT UP CASUE I CAN MAKE HEAD CRACK WITH JUST MY SP 505. BUT TRUST ME WHEN THE LINN DRUMM 2 DROPS ALOT OF NON BELIVERS IS GONNA BE BITCHIN UP .
speaking of old gear. the new/old? minimoog (and the foot pedal, but that's new) has been reissued with some "digital" changes but bob moog made it sound good.

jbl - Bob Moog died a few years ago
i think the new Moog you are talking about is this:
http://www.moogmusic.com/detail.php?mai ... t_id=21108
all analogue, no MIDI or patch saving.

i knew he had passed away but i saw vid where he was talking about reissueing this. he was at the NAMM show a few years ago when he was talking about the voyager. so does that mean this voyager came out a few years ago? am i late again?
i had that bach on a moog vinyl, i may still have it somewhere.
