Polyphony issue in resampling

alright so a couple nights ago i was building up a song with resample. i used the following
1. the pattern
2. bass drum 1
3. bass drum 2
4. snare

and the pattern was cutting out. so i ended up having to use only one bass drum. any ideas on why this was the case? all were mono.
