You know that game 'consequences' right? when you write down the first line of a story, fold the paper over and pass it to someone, then they write the next bit, fold it over and so on. At the end of it you end up with some messed up story about your brother and george bush going to a donkey show and buying candy floss and feeding it to your friends wife on a merry go round, or whatever. Anyway, the point! You reckon you could do the same thing with beat making? You know, start with some basic loop or something, pass it on, that person adds some drums, a little bit of bass, pass it on, the next persons got the perfect horn sample etc etc etc. Know what I mean? I dunno if, or how it'd work but i reckon you'd get some crazy ass shit at the end of it, a proper product of the hive mind of beat makers!

i've thought about this before too. there's a drawing excersize called exquisite corpse that is similar to what you're talking about.
i think it would be interesting for some beatmakers to agree on a drumbreak or basic pattern, and then each person take turns adding their blend of samples or playing overtop of it. sorta like a beatmaker's version of the posse cut. less colaborative than your idea, but could also be cool.

Yeah man, that'd be cool, It was the getting started bit of it I couldn't work out. The logistics would be a nightmare though I reckon!
