smelling the fresh manual
Ordered Zoom H2 portable recorder today hopefully it will be here on my desk by monday/tuesday. I will use it for field recording and vocal interludes me and my friends will record for my upcoming experimental album. I wandered through net some time ago and found out that H2 is very very good portable recorder for the price range. I got it off from ebay new with an additional 2GB flash card and all the other original extras for $199. I could do some bidding on rarely used but I usually cant wait to get the goods so I just use BuyIt now. Besides I like smelling the fresh manual ... you know!

Yo I missed this because they where at the borders. I am living in the capital but the gumball was going through one of the border cities. that kid who busted the balls, hes just simple junkie kid they used to walk in the center sniffing glue from little plastic bags back in the nineties. now they are more educated drive bmw's and jack everyone w/ a gun in a face. haha funny to see my country in gumball and funny to see those gumballers scared because no one jacks locals only the visitors are jacked with foreign numbers. as I said i didn't know they where here. thanks for telling this.

the h2 is really easy to use. try and get an h2SJ; it's a silicon jacket that really gives it a sturdier feel. for like when your bashin some junkie on the head with it like a makeshift brassknuckles.
insert funny comment here.

Yeah I found that too, but I wasn't sure if you speak russian as well as Latvian. I should've known, only in America do we only speak one language.
I took french in highschool and took it to french seminar which is basically fluent and I picked up a lot of spanish living in Cali and already knowing one of the romance languages, but a lot of people in Europe speak 3 plus languages 'cause there are so many different cultures in close proximity.

Yeah, its how we live here. I have not experienced a day when I have not spoken in Latvian, Russian and English at the same time. Besides I am learning German and French (kinda still suck at it). Otherwise it is hard to achieve something here. People tend to think you are they friend if you use their language.
[story]Good example is when we where sipping 40's with mah homies on the street without hiding it and cops tried fine us. There where like a cop latvian lady and a russian dude. That latvian bitch started to fuck with my homie and he was like very nervous too, so i did not know what to do to settle them both down. of course we did not have extra cash for the fine. So I started to speak with the russian dude in russian very normally without shouting and stuff and so we both started to laugh about them he told that it is Friday and stuff and that he has no intentions to spoil our day so after a few sentences we all chilled and left as friends. I 100% know that if i wouldn't speak to that dude in russian we would be spending chilled hours @ the cop station waiting for someone to give us teh money.[/story]

Lol, it's mainly because Germans and French folks are too lazy to learn another language.
That is, the adults usually don't or can't speak English nor Dutch. So yeah as a direct consequence Dutch people tend to learn and speak German, English, French and sometimes Spanish and Italian too.
Nowadays younger people in France and Germany are willing to learn English though, so now we tend to stíll talk in French or German because their English accents are making it pretty difficult to follow what they are saying hahaha! No offense though, there's usually no real problem communicating with them either way.

Booyah! I have one of those, too. You have to be real careful with the little door that covers the SD card slot, as it can break off easily. Mine did, and I think I'll make a flap for it with some velcro. There's an option to monitor the input from the mics, so that you can plug this into a camcorder that has a line-in or mic jack.
I also found an eye screw at a hardware store that fits the tripod mount and I'll attach a lanyard or camera strap to it so I can carry the thing around my neck. Be advised that eye screws that are made with imperial/english measurement standards might be a little bit too easy to unscrew when it's in the H2, so you'll have to get a metric one. Of course, for those outside the U.S. this won't likely be a problem.

Yea, so I got it last week and I'm very satisfied. Hi quality recordings everywhere you go. C'mon I never before was able to just stick the recorder outta window and get sound quality which is same/ or better than on the most of atmosphere sampling CD's.
waves ranging from 44khz16 bit to 96khz 24 bit (yes its true). mp3's can be recorded on the fly using any bitrate or VBR.
now I am going to record something everywhere. just turn it on hit record button twice and you are recording. no learning curve at all.
only one thing currently pisses me off. to delete a file from the card I should go to: MENU->(scroll)->FILE->(scroll)->(select file from the list)->(scroll)->DELETE->(scroll)->YES!!
They should definitely add a dedicated shortcut to delete current file otherwise it is a real pain to do so.
But as I said before it does not bother me so much. It is easier to manage files on your PC anyways. Very good portable recorder with lots of accessories for just $200.
