Having dozens of unfinished beats that may never see the light of day, but that at some point you spent some good time on

yeah probably thinking a beat is really good then never being able to get drums to sound right with it or something, then spending 3 hours hearing the same loop and hating it. The worst thing I can do is just throw it out because sometimes I revisit stuff and I like it again.

+1
finishing a beat, and hearing 1 part thats slightly off time. something only you can notice, but drives you insane.

Definatly this. Though instead of still throwing it out and revisit it, I just delete the whole thing..

Anyways I'll put together a tiny list of things I hate. The most are probably mentioned already but oh well:

- Having a lot of motivation while at work, or whatever, for a new beat and when you get home you're like "Meh.."

- Finishing those damn beats (not always).. Sometimes I'm working on it for too long and just (instead of having a little break from it and continue later) leave it for eternity!

- Finding the RIGHT samples.. Everytime when I dig, I'm looking for a certain vibe of a sample and I just CAN'T find a record with the vibe I'm looking for.. Yet I still end up with nice samples, but never found that vibe yet.

- Having a tiny to NO scene in your area... I hate this the most. There are only a few gigs in the year related to hiphop/good music.

I guess that's it for now.. Can't think of more. And besides all this, I still love making beats. It's not like this is how it goes every time.

The constant flux between being proud of my music and wanting people to hear it... then hating everything I've ever done and wanting to start again as someone else.

after a few beers on the mpc 2000xl you accidentally pick clear when loading a program and deleting everything you just had.
