Logic Pro is a sequencer out of the box. Hit up youtube and search "logic pro sequencing".

not being a dck but i've just done a google and found loads of info for what you want to do. i think you just need to spend the whole weekend sat down with the manual in front of you and really put the hours (yes hours) in, these headaches happen for everyone at the begining especially with unfamiliar software. go one step at a time and learn each bit of kit seperatly rather than jumping in head first. on a side note, do you really need to have the 202 midi'd up??

The akai mini is a MIDI controller, which sends note messages and control messages to a DAW (sequencer) in which to play notes or control parameters.

It should be USB and should work out of the box.

You'll need some sort of DAW to make music with it of course, be it Logic, Cubase, Reaper, Ableton. This will already have built in plugins to make music within it.

The sp does not send midi messages, meaning I can't control my DAW with it. But I can use my DAW to control it. You'll be able to sequence what samples play and when using.

Logic already comes with an abundance of plugins anyway. If you can't get Logic to work, I suggest learning how all these devices work.

They will work together, fairly simple once you understand what you are doin.

I suggest checking out www.soundonsound.com

OK everybody else is trying to be very gentle but I'm not gonna bother..

If you cant figure this bit out, you dont have what it takes to use these pieces of equipment.

well there's sort of two schools of thought here. pete rock would say no one helped him learn how to use the sp or dig so you should do the same. q-bert says teach as much as you can as you were once in the same boat and the knowledge you share will return ten fold. each argument has validity. you will probably learn more figuring it out for yourself but we as a community will learn more efficiently by sharing (hence the internet).

that said i don't know much about midi in logic. if you can't figure it out i'd skip the midi and trigger the 202 straight audio into logic
