weird/bizzare/trippy movies
I used to watch shitloads of movies. Mostly european exploitation movies, but also some japanese horror movies, french new wave and other stuff.
Then I became busy with school, friends and music (or maybe i kind of lost interest), but now I'm trying to get into it again.
Recently I tried to watch this film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rFpxpM01Zs but it was awful. I used to love cheesy movies like that, and I've enjoyed a few Black Emanuelle movies before, but this one had too little going on, just sex scenes all the time.
Next movie I'm gonna watch is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU6ik9iaqsY
It's a completely surreal movie. Same director who made Sedmikrasky, which you might know. I've seen it before and I remember it as being quite good, but I'm not sure if my taste in movies has completely changed. I hope not, because I used to watch some really cool movies, and lately I've only been enjoying big-budget comedy and horror movies.
but yeah... anybody else into such weird movies?

Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
Thanks for the titles, def going to check them out. Do you know if they are on Netflix?
Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
I don't think so, but you should check it. You can get them from torrents though.
Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
Enter the Void, it's on Netflix.
Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
I have yet to see Enter The Void.
Just thought of another recent film set in tokyo: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0976060/ It's probably nothing like Enter The Void, but it's super weird!
The movie is divided into 3 different stories, two of them by french directors and one is by a korean. One story is about a girl who turns into a chair, one is about a man with no past coming up from the sewer and throwing handgrenades in the streets and one is about a Hikikomori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori). Very recommended movie!

Enter the Void is definitely an acid DMT experience and you dont even need to be on the drug. I was totally going to mention that one until i saw someone else beat me to it. Fuck yeah. Its long winded but worth it if your out of acid and looking to feel the effects.
Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
try those: "vampyros lesbos" by jess franco, "antropophagus" by joe d'amato, some of lucio fulci (end of 70s beginning of 80s), the first films by peter jackson (yes, the one who now made Hobbit), like "bad taste" and "braindead". mario bava "bay of blood" (maybe his marsterpiece) and "schock".
for italian police movies: Milano calibro 9 (1972) by Fernando Di Leo, Milano trema: la polizia vuole giustizia (1973) by Sergio Martino, Milano odia: la polizia non può sparare (1974) by Umberto Lenzi, Milano violenta (1976) by Mario Caiano, and the great "la banda del gobbo", roma in its pure violence

...but i don't know if for any of those there are english versions...but, seeing tarantino's movies, i think yes...

Jess Franco has definately done better than that. Try his Marquis De Sade movies or She Killed In Ecstasy.
The italian directors you mention are all great moviemakers. Sergio Martino made some of the best giallo flicks I've seen:

Beyond the Black Rainbow is psychedelic and trippy as hell. Just came out this year. The music is dope, too.
And man...if no one has seen Enter the Void, you've got to. What a trip that movie is. Its less of a story than it is an immersible experience. Nothing like it.

Re: weird/bizzare/trippy movies
one which is doing the rounds on conspiracy theory sites at the moment that is probably severely weird,
"Sandy Hook Lingerie Party Massacre"
If anyone wonders what the tinfoil hat wearers are thinking, it was released in 2000, but reviewed on the day of the aurora/batman shootings, and has a very weird reference in the review to the title.
anyway judging from the cover it is just plain insane. dude in bondage gear with great big spikes etc...
