Can't see anyone buying the fly on the back of the app. One man killed it with nano studio so why can't akai. If they update with Adsr, mute groups, simultaneous/pad layers and panning, I will be happy. But then i suppose they want us to buy the reni or studio. The overall design an layout is great.

There's a big difference, Matt, the developer for nanostudio cared about bringing a quality useable app to the masses. He released it when it was ready and actively listens to his users/feedback. If you have ever been to his forum you will know what i mean. Retronym cashed in on the akai name and reskinned part of their existing app to make it look "pretty". I'm sure they were waiting to release the physical hardware to go along with the app (prolly to fool customers into thinking they were getting something comparable to a real mpc) when apple released the new dock connector for iPhone, iPod and ipad I'm sure those hopes went out the window so they cut their losses and released iMPC as a standalone app. If the akai logo wasn't on this app nobody would give a shit. It would just get lost in the pile of apps that have done the same for the last 3-4 years.

All they needed to do was port this old OSX program. Image
It does everything you need and you can import/export your classic mpc program files.

Yeah. This impc is garbage...

About audiobus: it's rad. It works. Only a handful of apps support it, but I'm sure 90% of audio apps will support it in mere months.

It allows an input app, an insert app (effects etc) and an output app ( like a recorder or daw app). Now that app developers don't need to design front end and output ends for apps if they use audiobus, imagine all the dope effects apps that are possible!!! iOS plug-ins, baby. Ikaoss pads.....wicked!

imaschine is nice on iphone, but it really is a sketch pad. i only use it for 5mins if i'm at my desk or smoking at lunch. If i make any decent loops i sample them when i get home. also use it for drum storage.

imaschine kinda sucks. Akai should be embarrased. Beatmaker is really good, but I dont like it. Samplr is by FAR the best sampler for iPad hands down. Its fun, but at the end of the day I realized I dont really like iPad as a sampler, love it as a synth though. So many great synths for itouch devices.
