Digitally editing and sampling cassetttes and put on mac

So want to gather cassettes and sample then and digitally edit them but idk how and i would love some help then after all that transfer it to a mac i already have a casstte player i got from walmart

just plug the cassette player into the audio interface, be good to go with any standard software... or am i misunderstanding?
